Join us aboard Potomac for our final three-hour history cruise of the 2025 season on Veteran's Day with a special tribute to our military veterans.

At the opening of the cruise, we will head over to the USS Hornet aircraft carrier docked in Alameda for her commemoration ceremony while Robert, a Potomac crew member and Scottish bagpiper, plays TAPS and other tunes. We then head back out into San Francisco Bay to see the islands, bridges, lighthouses, flocks of birds, various boats and ships, and other sights. A delicious box lunch will be provided. Complimentary coffee, tea and dispensed water will be available. Soft drinks and bottled water will be available for purchase.

Docents will narrate points of interest that we'll see in and around the bay, including World War II sites and other features.

##Check-in for boarding begins 45 minutes prior to scheduled departure time.

On arrival, please pick up and complete a boarding pass at the Visitor Center and have it date-stamped for boarding. You are welcome to browse and review story boards of the consequential D-Day Landings at Normandy, the life and times of Eleanor Roosevelt, the history of the USS Potomac, and peruse our gift shop items.

If you wish, watch our 15-minute video on the history of the Potomac and its preservation as FDR's presidential yacht and as a National Historic Landmark.

Boarding is 15 minutes before departure. The ship departs the dock promptly at the designated time.

###Solid, flat-soled shoes are required. This is a moving ship and while exploring the ship you will encounter step-over thresholds, uneven surfaces and steeper, narrow stairs between decks. Handrails on both sides of the stairs are present.


- There is no smoking or vaping permitted anywhere on the USS Potomac.
- Please DO NOT carry food, drinks, or anything else in both hands while going up or down any ladders (stairs). This presents a significant safety risk to you should the ship roll or pitch unexpectedly.

- Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
- The Presidential Yacht USS Potomac is a historically preserved vessel. As such, it does not fully comply with the facility access standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ship allows limited access for the mobility impaired. Wheelchair access is limited to the main deck only. The maximum wheelchair width (outside of wheel to outside of wheel) is 25 inches. On board restrooms are small and their doorways are narrow and do not accommodate wheelchairs. Accessible restrooms are available at the Port of Oakland ferry landing next to the Potomac. USS Potomac docents and crew are not allowed to provide physical assistance to mobility impaired individuals; including lifting occupied wheelchairs over obstacles.
