Board our motor boat and cruise 9.5 miles through tidal creeks and marshes out to the uninhabited Morris Island. Once you get to the beach, a naturalist will lead you on a 3 hour, multiple-mile beach hike to a remote location where you are likely to find pre-historic fossils. As you hike your guide will discuss fossils, why fossils are found in this area, and what type of fossils you can expect to find. The naturalist will also identify any fossils you find.

Guests can cancel or reschedule outside of 24 hours without penalty. All tours are nonrefundable within 24 hours of the scheduled departure time. There is a 25% upcharge for rescheduling within 24 hours.

**Liability waiver**
Every individual in the group must complete an [electronic liability wavier](https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/v/coawaiver/) prior to arrival. This can be forwarded via text or email to others in the group. Adults must complete a waiver on behalf of each minor.

Please plan and dress accordingly to ensure comfort and safety while out in the heart of the Lowcountry. Look ahead at weather forecasts and bring plenty of water with you.

**We recommend you bring the following:**
-Multiple bottles of water per person. Staying hydrated is critical to having a great time.
-Sunscreen or sun resistant clothing.
-Hat, eyeglasses / sunglasses - with a retaining strap.
-Shoes that you do not mind getting sandy.
-A bag for fossils, shells, and other beach finds.
-Required Medications
-Cameras/ GoPro / Cell phone to capture your trip.
-If you are bring small children, we highly recommend bringing a beach stroller as you will be hiking multiple miles.

**Fossil hunting rules**
Per state & federal laws, digging of any kind is prohibited (with out without tools). Morris Island is a natural, public island, and the area we take you is protected both as a beach and as a historic site. Under no circumstances are you allowed to dig into the dunes or cliffs. Guests found breaking this rule will be asked not to return on trips with us.

**Directions:** We are located between James Island and Folly Beach. From Folly Road (SC-171) turn onto Bowens Island Rd (about 1.5 miles before Folly Beach) There will be a large sign for Bowens Island Restaurant at the turn. The paved road will turn to gravel. Follow this road to the end where you will find Bowens Island Restaurant, a parking lot on the right, and our office the far side of the boat landing.

**Pet policy**
No dogs/pets are allowed on guided group tours. Please notify us if you will be bringing a service dog or would like to book a private tour.

**Transportation**
Uber and Lyft are the most common transportation options for who do not have a vehicle.
