At our base in Te Arai we have a large range of quality surfboards and wetsuits available for hire including;
- Soft boards for beginners (from 6ft to 9ft)
- Short boards
- Mini Mals
- Long boards for intermediate to advanced surfers
- Full length wetsuits in all types and sizes
- Free use of our soft racks and tie downs: suitable for any vehicle and designed to carry 6 surfboards, 4 paddle-boards or 2 kayaks. Very easy to set up and use.
Plus we’ll give you directions and hints on the best places to surf in the area depending on your level, the conditions and tides.
If you know what your after then let us know in the notes of your booking, otherwise leave it with us, we'll set you up with the right gear for you and the waves on the day!

All equipment is collected from our Surf Shop at 11 Te Arai Point Rd. Te Arai
Most Surfboards can be transported in your car. Or if you have roof racks on your roof racks.
Paddleboards, Kayaks, Surfboards that wont fit in your car will go on your roof racks or trailer. If you dont have racks thats ok we have Soft racks that work for all gear and vehicle that we fit for you. Its easy and everyone does it.
**After your Hire**
- Stop in the Aotearoa Surf Shop, 11 Te Arai Point Rd for discounts store wide.
- Please ask us about next steps for you such as a lesson, program or surf n stay at our Eco Pods or Glamping
- Also check what surfboard or wetsuit is right for you, we can recommend
**All guests receive 5% off all surfboards and 10% off wetsuits, car softracks & accessories from our shop on the day**

Cancellation Policy
Your activity will run rain or shine. We ensure everyone is satisfied with their experience. If your not fully satisfied we will give you your money back!
If we need to cancel our activity for any reason (which does not happen) we will rebook you free of charge or offer you a full refund.
You get a refund or no charge to change your booking date or time for the same booking service if you give Aotearoa Surf 48 days notice
You must call to rebook prior to your lesson or program commencing
Rebooking a new date or time with less than 48 hours notice is $25 / person
Cancelling your booking with less than 45 hours notice warrants no refund..
