**What do I wear?**
The temperature can be cooler out on the water so dress accordingly - best to be prepared! Hats and sunscreen are recommended on summer days.
**Should I tip the crew?**
Yes! It is customary to tip the crew & bartender if you enjoyed your experience.
**Will it rain?**
Occasionally. Sailing is an all-weather activity; & we do sail in light rain or intermittent sprinkles, however, the Captain will cancel due to severe or unsafe conditions. MBS will do it’s best to notify you promptly, but last-minute cancelations do happen. If the Captain must cancel a sail, customers will be offered alternate departures, subject to availability, or receive a sailing credit for the current or following season.
Advance Sail Reservation
Plan ahead with an Advance Sail Reservation! You can pre-reserve a spot for your sunset sail by providing a credit card. Our departures open two weeks before the sail date, and we’ll confirm your reservation and process payment at that time. No charges will be made until your reservation is confirmed. Spots are first-come, first-served—sign up now for the best chance to secure your preferred date!

Your card will not be charged until your reservation is confirmed.
Confirmation & Payment (2 Weeks Before Departure)
When your sail date opens, MBS will confirm your reservation and charge the card on file.
You will receive a confirmation email once your booking is finalized.
Alternative Date Options (If Needed)
If your selected date is unavailable, we will reach out with alternative options.
Your card will only be charged if you approve a new date.
Using Gift Cards or Future Sailing Credits
If you plan to use a Gift Card or Future Sailing Credit, it must be redeemed when your sail date is confirmed.

**Sail Cancellation Protection** (8% to be calculated upon confirmation based on Sail Value Totals)
By purchasing the Sail Cancellation Protection, you reserve the option to cancel your reservation and transfer your tickets to a Future Sailing Credit (FSC), reschedule or receive a refund. Cancellations must be submitted via email to reservations@manhattanbysail.com (no texts or calls) no later than 2 hours prior to your departure time. 75% of funds, minus the cancellation protection taxes and booking fees, will be transferable or refundable. Once the 2-hour window has expired, booking is subject to MBS cancellation / rescheduling policy MBS policy."

##Arrival
- Check-in and boarding begins 15 minutes prior to the departure time. We recommend taking additional time to navigate to the Pier if you are not familiar with the area or need to adjust for traffic or parking.
- Remember the boat leaves promptly at the scheduled departure time and does not wait for stragglers. Don't miss the boat!
- Manhattan by Sail ("MBS") reserve the right to release your reserved space(s) 5 minutes prior to departure, if you have not yet checking in with a dockside agent or contacted the office.
- The Clipper City tall ship is located at the end of the pier around the corner. The ship may not have arrived at the pier, but the correct dock is labeled with the "Manhattan By Sail" sign located at the entrance to the dock.

**What if my plans have changed?**
