About This Trip##
- This 2 hour guided adventure is perfect for beginner + first time paddlers! The current of the river during manatee season does require an INTERMEDIATE level of physicality for the paddle against the current up river with an easier return paddle back to our launch site. This means the first hour of the paddle can be a a workout!
- Expect an adventure that is part wild + part urban as the river is a popular one to enjoy living + recreating on. More people enjoy recreating on the weekends + holidays than weekdays.
- Be on the lookout for many different species of animals from birds, plants, turtles, fish, occasional otters, manatees, dolphins + more!

DISCLAIMER:
We cannot guarantee manatee sightings on each tour we take out, however your tour guide will do their best to go to the areas where the manatees are typically most active. Manatee season officially runs from November 15th - March 31st. We would like all our guests to be aware of this possibility so that there are no surprises once on the water!
Occasionally water may turn tannic in color (but still clear) due to excess rains and high tides.
Booking Notes
IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE YOU ARRIVE:
We will have a great time on the water, but here is some information to make your experience unforgettable!
Waivers: PLEASE BE SURE TO SIGN YOUR WAIVER ONLINE BEFORE YOU ARRIVE. You will receive a separate email with instructions titled “ACTION REQUIRED FOR YOUR BOOKING."
Arrival: Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tour for the mandatory safety training! We cannot hold tours for late arrivals; these seats have been reserved for your group and are unavailable for other bookings. Like an airline booking, if you arrive later than your scheduled flight time, you will be considered a no-show and not eligible for a refund or new seats. Leave ample time to make it to your tour, you don’t want to miss this adventure!
Location: Your adventure starts at 8092 Mary’s Fish Camp Road, Spring Hill, Florida.
We are LOCATED at Mary’s Fish Camp and launch our tours directly across from parking. Please pardon the dust, as Mary’s Fish Camp is under construction.
Parking: Please look for signs that say Clear Kayak Tours Park Here, on either side of the road. We launch from behind the wooden children’s playground. Please look for our two trailers near the water.
Sunscreen or Bug Spray: Please apply sunscreen or bug spray before or immediately upon arrival. We do not allow application immediately before or during the tour due to the environmental impact and both permanently damage the clear kayaks.
Weather: Our team watches the weather closely before your launch as the weather changes quickly in Florida. We still paddle out in the event of rain; however, if unsafe weather conditions occur, our team will decide to cancel or delay the tour. Plan to arrive on time unless notified in advance. If we cancel the tour, you can receive a refund to the original form of payment, reschedule the tour, or receive a gift card. Please dress for the temperature for the early morning, afternoon, and nighttime tours.
Tipping your guide: Our guides work hard to provide an amazing experience, and cash tips are always welcome. If you have already tipped online, we will ensure your guide is aware!!
Kayaking for conservation: A portion of each booking is donated to manatee conservation.
Which is also why we do not exit the kayak for the duration of the tour as the Weeki Wachee is ecological sensitive + this policy preserves the integrity of the ecosystem for generations to come.
We foster a commitment to education, stewardship + responsible ecotourism so learn about manatees from our team of Guardian Guides certified by Save the Manatees Club!
Remember that wildlife is wild + it's always a hope never a promise that we will see manatees! Nature is dynamic which means color + water clarity can change from day to day.
We do not always see manatees in clear water + take our guests to the areas where we are most likely to see wildlife based on the days conditions. This means sometimes we visit areas that don't have clear water!
Since there is the possibility of kayaking with manatees in their home and they are a threatened species we ask that you watch this short video (just under 3 minutes) by Save the Manatees about how to safely operate a kayak around them!
