Booking Notes
**Mahalo for booking your boat dive with Hilo Ocean Adventures! 🤙**
We're excited to show you the majesty of Hilo in a way no one else can. Get ready to get underwater!
**Please check in at the shop 45 minutes before your dive.**
**Do this before you arrive**
Print and fill out the PADI Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire.
[Click here to download your Medical Questionnaire](https://cdn.filestackcontent.com/R1Ch2wjLT2m6WcsoB3QM)
If any answer calls for it, have a physician sign off that you're cleared to dive (page 2). Bring the completed form when you check in. Handle this early, since a missing clearance can keep you out of the water day-of.
**Things you should bring**
- Certification card (no card, no dive)
- Swimsuit (wear it under your clothes) and a towel
- Reef-safe sunscreen
- **Seasickness medication if you're prone to it.** Take it before arrival so it has time to work.
**Nice to haves**
- Camera
We'll provide snacks and beverages.
**Before your dive**
- This dive boards a 35-ft vessel by a vertical swim ladder while you're wearing full scuba gear (40-80 lbs). You'll need to climb the ladder unassisted, with no active knee, hip, or back injuries that would prevent boarding in moving seas.
- This dive operates in open ocean. You must be a proficient swimmer, able to tread water in deep, moving water without a flotation device.
- After your dive, wait at least 12 hours before flying or driving above 2,000 ft. A two-tank dive raises that to 18 hours.
- **You must be a certified diver, able to swim, and comfortable breathing from a snorkel or regulator.**
- Your captain makes the final call on whether the dive runs, based on the day's ocean and weather conditions. Ending a dive early for seasickness or discomfort is not grounds for a refund.
- Minors 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
When you arrive, your divemaster will verbally confirm you meet the physical and medical requirements above before handing out gear. It's a standard safety step for every guest. Please also double-check that all your waivers are signed.
**Optional before your dive:** Check out our [Ethics of Diving Pledge](https://cdn.filestackcontent.com/Ywtp8GL6Rt2hIhOpexYV) and see how we promise to care for and respect the Hawaiian ecosystem, and how you can too.
