Thank you for registering for the 4-Day American Canoe Association (ACA) Instructor Development and Certification Program. We’re excited to have you join us and look forward to an enriching, skill-building experience on the water.
What to Expect: Over the four days, you’ll participate in hands-on training and assessments, gaining the skills and knowledge necessary for ACA certification. Each day will involve a blend of classroom sessions, on-water training, and teaching practice. You can expect a supportive, immersive experience with expert guidance, allowing you to develop your instructional abilities.
Requirements Before Attending: Please complete and submit any necessary pre-course paperwork, including waivers and the health and fitness assessment form, at least one week prior to the program start date. Review the ACA Instructor Candidate Handbook to familiarize yourself with the certification standards and expectations. Full attendance is required, so plan to be present for all scheduled sessions.
What to Bring:
- Personal Gear: A Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device (PFD), paddle, and watercraft suitable for the course.
- Safety Gear: Weather-appropriate clothing, sunscreen, and any additional items specified in your confirmation email to ensure your safety and comfort.
- Personal Items: Hydration, snacks, a packed lunch, and any personal medications.

Cancellation Policy
Due to the limited number of participants we can accept, we require a firm commitment from those registering for this program. Our cancellation and refund policy is fair and ensures we have enough time to fill your spot if you cancel.
- One Month Advance Cancellation: If you cancel at least one month before the program start date, you will receive a 100% refund.
- Operator Cancellations: In the event of an operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, we will provide a full refund or credit.
- No-Shows: Participants who do not attend without prior cancellation will be charged the full price.
