About

The Wild and Scenic Chetco river estuary in Brookings offers a variety of experiences ranging from frequent Pelican and Kingfisher sightings as well as seals, sloughs and some of the cleanest water on the coast. The boat basin offers a very easy calm water introduction where you can view the many different commercial fishing boats, Coast Guard vessels and pleasure craft moored up to the docks. Total freshwater paddling distance is about 2.5 miles for the 1.5 to 2 hour tour.
Taller people above 6'4" can sometimes feel that the sit inside kayaks are a bit cramped.
There is a weight limit of 250# for the single kayaks and 500# for tandems. Larger people may not want to do this tour and might consider our boat tours.

Thank you for choosing SCT for your adventure. Please show up on time and ready to paddle dressed in synthetic materials like leggings, swim trunks, water pants, fleece, wind breakers, and not cotton.

**Meet by the boat ramp and bathroom facilities. Look for the rack on the docks with all of the kayaks. We are near Zolas Pizza and Slugs and Stones Ice Cream.**
