About

After we wrap up our Buoy 10 season in Astoria, we move up to the St Helens area of the Columbia River to target chinook and coho salmon. The captain Kevin knows the area like the back of his hand, having mastered all of the Pacific Northwest during the past 4 decades. You are in safe hands with Capt. Kevin, as he will do everything in his power to ensure you have a productive day out with him.

Capt. Kevin will take you fishing for Fall Chinook and coho along the Columbia River. Whether you’re a pro angler or a complete novice, there is a fish out here with your name on it!

All this magic happens aboard his spacious 28’ Alumaweld aluminum boat. This is a clean, seaworthy fishing vessel with a 200 HP Mercury engine and top-notch electronics. Its GPS and fishfinder will tell you where the fish are hiding, while the top-notch gear and tackle help you land the fish of your dreams.

All trips with Kevin Larson Guide Service include the use of quality rods, reels, tackle, lures, and a complimentary cleaning service of whatever you want to take home with you. This leaves you with the hard choice of how to cook your fresh catch once home.

Please purchase a fishing license before the trip and bring along food and drink to keep your energy up.

MAKE SURE EVERYONE HAS:

• Facial coverings

• Fishing Licenses, either printed or through the myODFW app

• Appropriate clothing, including rain gear

• Eats and Drinks

Fishing Licenses -
**If we are fishing the Columbia River, or the ocean outside its mouth, both Oregon and Washington licenses are valid no matter which side of the river we launch on.**

Oregon Licenses - You may purchase licenses online [here](https://odfw.huntfishoregon.com/login) or visit a local retailer.

1 Day License: scroll down to “Shop for Products that Don't Require an Account”. Select the 1 Day Angling License or the 1 Day Combined Angling License (if you’re crabbing). Add the Columbia Basin Endorsement for $1 when it pops up. Then check out. You must repeat this process for each angler, since it only allows you to enter one name at checkout.

Annual Youth or Adult Angling License: You must create an account for each angler, which requires an SSN. Select the license you want. Don’t forget to add the necessary Combined Angling Tag and Columbia Basin Endorsement to your annual license.

All licenses give you the choice to either print your license/tag at home or e-tag after downloading the myODFW app and creating an account. If you’re purchasing day licenses for more than just yourself, printing each license and tag beforehand works best.

**Kids must have valid licenses to fish!**
~ Oregon fishing licenses are free through age 11. Kids ages 12-17 will need a $10 Annual Youth Angling License, which includes the Columbia Basin Endorsement. All ages 17 and under must purchase the $5 Youth Combined Angling Tag.
~ Washington licenses are not required through age 14. A Youth License is required for 15 year olds. Adult licenses are required for ages 16 and above. A Catch Record Card is free but required for all ages.

Washington Licenses - Honestly, if you need a day license, dealing with the Oregon system is a lot easier, unless you’re a Washington resident. Visit https://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov/#/login. You must create an account, even for a day license. It takes 10 days to receive your license by mail when purchased online. Should you need your license sooner, you will need to visit a local retailer. To fish you will need either a Temporary Combination Fishing License or an Annual Combination Fishing License. Both require a Catch Record Card.

##What to Bring:

- Appropriate Clothing: It's the Northwest, be prepared. If you’re fishing with me along the coast, the marine environment can be very different from the rest of the region. During the summertime, it’s not uncommon to see 90° in Portland/Vancouver while 90 miles away in Astoria it’s 60°.

- Rain Gear: No matter the forecast, make sure you have it. If the conditions are just right, you may need the rain gear to keep the spray off of you as we travel. If you don’t need it, no big deal. Should you need it and don’t have it, it could make for an uncomfortable experience. You could also purchase Frogg Toggs from Amazon so that you have rain gear and if you don’t use it, you can return it.

- Eats and Drinks: Bring what you would like for the day. You can always take it home if you don't consume it.

- Camera: Some of the fish that we catch, by law, must be released. A good camera is always nice to capture the memories of these beautiful fish.

HOTELS:
There are many to choose from in the Scappoose/St Helens area. Please call Kevin for potential options.

Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION POLICY:

With at least 14 days notice from the trip date, your reservation may be cancelled and your deposit refunded. No problem, no questions asked.

Within 14 days of the date of the trip, the deposit is non-refundable and the balance of the trip is due whether you utilize your trip or not. Your trip may not be rescheduled, cancelled, or reduced in number of fishermen, but you can always transfer the trip to someone else.

In the event of unfishable conditions (weather, river levels, regulation changes, or ocean conditions), we will move locations to a more fishable body of water.

Feel free to contact Kevin at 503.621.6759 kevin@kevinlarsonguideservice.com if you have any questions that arise.
