Experience the most scenic and enjoyable way to visit New Zealand’s only castle!
Your journey begins with a beautiful water taxi ride across Otago Harbour to the charming seaside village of Macandrew Bay, where you’ll transfer to our executive shuttle van for a picturesque drive up the hill to Larnach Castle.
Your castle and garden entry fees are included in the fare. Enjoy 1.5 to 2 hours exploring the historic castle, stunning gardens, and breathtaking views at your own pace. Our driver will advise your pickup time for the return trip.
After your castle visit, relax as we take you back down to Macandrew Bay, where you’ll reboard the boat for your final leg to either Steamer Basin (Dunedin City) or Back Beach (Port Chalmers), depending on your tour schedule.

Please arrive 10 minutes before departure at Steamer Basin. We depart from the floating pontoon jetty adjacent to the shiny "Ray White" building at 12 Wharf Street, Dunedin.
Bring warm clothing and comfortable shoes – weather can change quickly on the Otago Peninsula.
Your Larnach Castle and Gardens entry is included in the fare.
The visit is self-guided and lasts approximately 1.5–2 hours.
Our driver will confirm your pick-up time for the return trip.
