Physical Requirements
Participation in our guided kayaking tours requires a moderate to high level of physical activity. Kayaking is considered a high-intensity activity, and participants must meet the following criteria:
Swimming Ability:
While life jackets are provided and required at all times, it is highly advisable that all participants know how to swim in case of emergency.
Paddling Responsibility:
All participants must have the ability to paddle their own vessel. Please note that our guides do not paddle for you—each guest is responsible for propelling and maneuvering their own kayak throughout the tour.
Vessel Entry/Exit:
Participants must be capable of independently entering and exiting the kayak from dock or shoreline. Some balance, strength, and mobility are required.
Medical Considerations
If you have any medical conditions (e.g., heart conditions, respiratory issues, joint problems, etc.) that may be aggravated by physical exertion, please consult your doctor before participating. Inform our staff of any relevant health concerns or required medications prior to the start of the tour.
Weather and Water Safety
Glowrow monitors weather and water conditions closely. Tours may be delayed or rescheduled in case of unsafe conditions. All participants are required to wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket provided by Glowrow for the entire duration of the tour.
