About

**Our Flexible Half Day Fishing Charters depart 3 times daily at 7AM, 12PM and 5PM and are offered through the beginning of the season until the very end.**

What to expect?...

Boat Running time can be 15 minutes to 1 hour to the fishing grounds, depending on the Captain deciding where the best fishing is for the day. These trips are best for those wanting to get the fishing in on a limited time frame - and are usually action packed start to finish!

We focus on harvesting the full daily limit for Species that are currently running at the time of booking. Through a whole season this boat fish for Pollock, Cod, Rockfish, and Silver Salmon on these trips, and often enjoy great success in the short time spent!

Upon return, we filet of your fish and showcase them at our private hanging station back at the landing for photos (included in your adventure).

Enjoy world class fishing using purpose built custom made in the USA fishing rods from [Thrasher Rods](https://www.millerslandingak.com/seward-alaska-fishing/fishing-gear/) and all hand tied gear in house.

**Join us for some exciting Black Bass, Pollock, Cod, and Silver Salmon (when in season) fishing, and [enjoy coffee and warm food from our Cafe](https://www.millerslandingak.com/cafe/) !**

Free parking at Millers Landing is included with your charter that leaves right from our very own launch/landing area in Lowell Point, just South of Seward!

Booking Notes

# Charters include fishing tackle, bait, guide, and necessary equipment - Please read the following before you arrive!

* **Charters do not include meals, rain gear, or fishing licenses.** Please plan ahead!

* **Your half day charter will mainly target rockfish.** We also target Silver Salmon when they arrive, which is usually around mid July. **We do not target halibut on our half day charters.**

* **NO BANANAS OR ANY BANANA RELATED PRODUCTS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE BOAT!** Banana’s are bad luck. The crew **will** throw them overboard, we take this seriously.

* **Hard alcohol is not permitted on board.** Feel free to bring some beer or wine to enjoy during your charter, but **inebriation will not be tolerated.**

* **Marijuana may not be consumed or carried on board.** Marijuana is not federally recognized, and our boats operate within federal jurisdiction.

* **Please medicate for sea sickness in advance if necessary.** If you are prone to sea sickness (or if you are unsure), go to bed early the night before and follow the instructions on your motion sickness meds! Alcohol and antihistamines will have you sleeping all day, so don't plan a big night out before your charter.

# Suggested Clothing & Equipment
- **There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad equipment** - *Old Norwegian saying*
- **Assume it's going to rain** and be happy when it doesn't. The majority of the time it's gorgeous out there, but there's nothing like being prepared:
* **Layer, Layer, and Layer:** Synthetics or wool are best with a rain proof top and bottom if possible.
* **Gloves:** Bulky gloves can be more trouble than they're worth and accidentally torque down on the drag on the reel, etc. Light duty polypro gloves or featherweight neoprene can get wet, are cheap, pack easy, etc.
* **A good hat, sunscreen & any medication you may need**
* **Sea sickness meds:** - if you know you suffer from sea sickness, ask your doctor if [Promethazine](https://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-8895/promethazine-oral/details) is appropriate for you. If it's good enough for astronauts, it'll probably work on our boats. Transderm Scopalamine patches are also very effective and don't result in drowsiness.

# If you chose the "Book the Boat" rate, you have exclusive use of the boat for your party - the following criteria exist:
- 6 people max - the Thomasea is a 6 passenger boat.
- If you require a departure time later in the day, we can do that with advance notice, but do know the boats must be back by their scheduled return time regardless of any late start requested. Earlier returns are not an issue - you've booked the boat, just let us know what you'd like to focus on!
- It should go without saying that booking the boat doesn't mean you're allowed to operate it! The captain and deckhand will work with your requests but are still in charge.

# Cook your Catch!
Turn your catch into dinner after your trip with our new Cook Your Catch experience. Bring fish caught on your Miller’s Landing charter straight to our cafe and our kitchen will prepare it fresh the same day, served with seasonal sides for a true Alaska dock-to-table meal experience. Pricing starts at $35 per person when booked in advance ($45 per person within 48 hours of your trip), and availability may be limited.

Learn more or add it to your reservation here: https://www.millerslandingak.com/cafe/cook-your-catch/

____________

#Fuel Surcharge
Please know that fuel is the largest expense we have as charter operators. Our prices reflect the price of fuel at the time of publishing. In previous years we have not added a fuel surcharge, however, due to the volatile and uncertain nature of fuel prices, Millers Landing reserves the right to add a fuel surcharge to the trip rates.

A fuel surcharge will only be applied in the event of soaring fuel prices based on the price of fuel at the time of your charter. Should the price of marine fuel remain under $4.50 per gallon there will be no additional charge.

This will ensure that we are able to take you to the best fishing grounds without regard for the cost of fuel or how far we must travel. By adding a fee schedule we can mitigate that concern, and provide you the ultimate fishing experience.

**PRICE OF FUEL FUEL SURCHARGE**

- UNDER $4.50 PER GALLON NO SURCHARGE
- $4.51 – $5.00 PER GALLON $10 PER PERSON PER DAY
- $5.01 – $6.00 PER GALLON $20 PER PERSON PER DAY
- $6.01 – $7.00 PER GALLON $30 PER PERSON PER DAY
- $7.01 – $8.00 PER GALLON $40 PER PERSON PER DAY

#Fishing License

***Fishing Licenses are not included in the price of the above charter.*** We DO NOT sell fishing licenses at Millers Landing, it is necessary to purchase them in advance. You will need to have the QR Code provided with your license available for the deckhand to scan.
For more information and to purchase your fishing license and King Salmon Stamp, visit [www.adfg.alaska.gov/store/](https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/store/).

Non Resident Children under age 16 do not need to have a fishing license. If you fish for and wish to retain King Salmon you will need a King Salmon Stamp in addition to your fishing license.

You can also use this handy app to keep your license close as well as check out local fishing regulations! [ADFG App](https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=home.mobile_app)

#Fishing Regulations & Species Targeted
Your guide(s) will help you follow the fishing regulations in our area, but ultimately you'll need to be aware of the rules to follow in order to enjoy our amazing fishery!

Your half day charter will mainly target rockfish. We also target Silver Salmon when they arrive, which is usually around mid July. **We do not target halibut on our half day charters.**

**Please note: We can not make any guarantees concerning number or size of fish caught.** While our main goal on any fishing charter is to have our clients catch their limits of the targeted species, there are many factors that can impact the outcome of each day of fishing. Our captains and deckhands are skilled fishermen and are very knowledgeable about our fishing grounds. They will do everything in their power to facilitate your dream Alaskan fishing trip!

There's a good write up about the fish we target on our website [HERE](https://www.millerslandingak.com/fishing/saltwater-charters/half-day-salmon-bass-charters.htm).
As regulations are subject to change, find the most recent information online for our area on the [ADF&G Website, our stat area is area 3A, North Gulf Coast](http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=fishregulations.sc_sportfish).
