About Humpback Whale Watching
- Whale season in Hawaii starts on December 16th and ends on May 15th. This is a seasonal tour.
- Humpbacks visit Hawaiian waters during the winter months to birth their calves and to mate. Observing these gentle giants taking care of their newborn calves is nothing short of amazing! Calves surface to breathe three times as often as their adult counterparts. Humpback Whales typically surfaces approximately every 10 to 15 minutes. To witness the Humpback Whales breaching out of the water is spectacular!
Itinerary

- The Humpback Whale Watching tour is two hours. We depart the harbor at either 6:45am or 10:15am and cruise the beautiful waters of the Kona Coast, looking for Humpback Whales. Humpbacks are in Hawaiian waters during the winter months to calve and mate. Because our boat takes out small groups only on each Hawaiian ocean adventure, you will have all the room and space you need to enjoy these magnificent creatures. During the whale watching season in Hawaii, whale sightings are a 99% success rate with Hawaii Oceanic on the Pueo Kai. We will return to the Harbor after an awesome adventure with the Hawaiian Humpback Whales.

##Meet Us At Keauhou Harbor

Please arrive 15 minutes before your tour’s departure time. We’ll meet you at the boat ramp at Keauhou Small Boat Harbor. Our boat will pull into the ramp shortly before your tour’s time of departure, and our crew will get you checked in and ready to go.

##Motion Sickness

If you get motion sickness, we recommend taking an over-the-counter medication such as non-drowsy Bo-nine. Many guests also find relief from using the wristbands that apply pressure to your wrists.

##Weather Conditions

Kona’s ocean waters are typically calm, but we are sometimes forced to reschedule tours due to unsafe conditions. If high winds or surf are forecasted for the day of your tour, please have your phone available in case we need to contact you. Any cancellations due to weather will be issued a trip on another tour, or a full refund.
