Itinerary
**Orca Island Paddle Meet at: (7:00AM, 9:00AM, 11:00AM, 1:00PM) (See grid below)**
A. Check in to office for parking pass and to sign necessary forms
B. Meet guide, get outfitted for paddle
C. WATER TAXI: Load and depart for Orca Island and cross Resurrection Bay, looking out for Whales, Porpoise, Sea Otters, and more!
D. Arrive in gorgeous Humpy Cove and participate in a safety briefing prior to departing on your kayaking adventure!
E. WATER TAXI: Load and depart for Miller’s Landing

* **Please arrive at least 30 minutes early!** So you don't miss the water taxi and have time to fill out your waiver, park a car, use the restroom, and get geared up! The water taxi will leave without you if you don't arrive on time.
* **If you want to eat at the café** or grab something to go before your trip, please arrive at least an hour early

* **NO BANANAS OR ANY BANANA RELATED PRODUCTS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE BOAT!** Banana’s are bad luck. The crew **will** throw them overboard, we take this seriously.
* **Alcohol is not permitted on board** Remember, it's a boat, not a bar! Drinking whilst on the tour is strictly prohibited!
* **Please medicate for sea sickness in advance if necessary** if it is known to ail you ahead of time, go to bed early the night before and follow the instructions on your motion sickness treatment meds! Alcohol and antihistamines will have you sleeping all day, so don't plan a big night out before your trip!

# What you should bring
Please plan ahead!
* **Water Bottle:** We have extra water, but please bring a water bottle so we can refill it. Let your guide know if you dont have one.
- **There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad equipment** - *Old Norwegian saying*
- **Assume it's going to rain** and be happy when it doesn't. The majority of the time it's gorgeous out there, but there's nothing like being prepared.
* **Layer, Layer, and Layer:** Synthetics or wool are best with a rain proof top and bottom if possible. We do have dry bags for a full change of clothes if you'd like to bring that, as well as any favorite snacks you choose to bring.
* **Rain Gear:** We have some extra rain gear, but recommend if you have some, to bring your own. Ask your guide if you are unsure about your setup.
* **Gloves:** Bulky gloves can be more trouble than they're worth, absorb water and keep it there, doing more harm than good! Light duty polypropylene gloves or featherweight neoprene can get wet, are cheap, pack easy, etc. We also have pogies available for our National Park trips.
* **Comfortable Shoes for Hiking:** Be sure to wear shoes you can hike in. You should never have to step into water when your guide launches or brings in your kayak.
* **A good hat:**
* Sunscreen & any medication you may need
* **Sea sickness meds:** - if you know you suffer from sea sickness, ask your doctor if [Promethazine](https://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-8895/promethazine-oral/details) is appropriate for you. If it's good enough for astronauts, it'll probably work on our boats. Transderm Scopalamine patches are also very effective and don't result in drowsiness.
* **Camera:** If you have a waterproof housing or bag, definitely bring it! On kayaking trips, cameras of course have an increased risk of falling into the ocean. Phones work great, we have water resistant phone cases for sale in the office.
#Location and Directions
Miller’s Landing is located at 13890 Beach Drive, Seward Alaska 99664. Which is about 1 ½ mile south of the city of Seward along Resurrection Bay at Lowell Point. If you are coming into Seward from the Anchorage area (North of us) then you should be on Highway 9 (the Seward Highway) which turns into 3rd Ave once you hit the Seward city limits. Stay on this road until it ends and you can either turn left (towards Alaska Sealife Center) or right towards Lowell Point Road. Turn right onto Lowell Point Road. Just past the waterfall the road will turn from pavement to dirt. Continue to follow this road for another 1 ½ miles until you see the Miller’s Landing Welcome sign.
