Your 3-hour trip will travel via Ruby Island and the mighty 'Peninsula' that rises straight up from the lake bed. Take in the beauty of the lake, the serenity of the Island, and even go for a swim in Arethusa Lake. On predator-free Mou Waho Island, you may see the rare flightless Buff Weka and the amazing Mountain Stone Weta that can survive being frozen for long periods of time.

This trip is fully guided by a Department of Conservation authorized guide for your safety particularly if you intend to swim in the 'lake' as it can be cold and we provide floatation devices if required.

This trip is the highlight of any trip to Wanaka and the beautiful Mou Waho does not disappoint.
The island is on a part of the lake that requires only the best set-up vessels of which Adventure 1 is custom-made for this. However, conditions can change quickly requiring us to alter our plans. In the event this happens we can visit other islands.
The track up to Lake Arethusa is moderate but uneven so a good pair of mountain shoes or boots will be the safest option.
If you are going to swim in the lake on an island on a lake on an island we will provide floatation devices if required.

Cancellation Policy

#The following cancellation policy applies to all bookings:

##If we cancel your booking due to poor weather or safety concerns we will fully refund you if we are unable to reschedule your tour.

* For bookings cancelled more than 48 hours prior to the departure time, there will be no charge, but some booking fees and charges may not be able to be refunded. In these cases, a partial refund will be given less the booking fees or charges.
* For bookings cancelled within 24 hours prior to departure time, or in the case of a ‘no show’, you will be charged the full cost of the trip.
