Navigating Marathon’s Shallow Waters: Marathon’s coastal waters can get skinny quickly, so keep a sharp eye on your depth finder as you approach. Stay within the marked channels at all times—straying outside can put you on the sandbar faster than you’d expect. Tides shift conditions throughout the day. If you're unsure, we recommend using a tides app

Navigating Tarpon Creek
• As you enter the Tarpon Creek area, keep a steady course and stay within the marked channel. Waters can get shallow off the beaten path, especially at lower tides.
• Follow the channel markers carefully; green to port and red to starboard as you make your way toward Marathon Marina.
• Keep a lookout for manatees and other local wildlife. Please navigate with care and honor all slow‑speed zones.

Approaching Fairfield Inn Marathon Marina**
• After exiting the main Tarpon Creek channel, continue following the markers guiding you toward Marathon Marina. Our slips will be on your approach side as you near the marina basin—just look for the Marina Market along the waterfront. We’ll be ready to help you ease into your slip and get settled.
Marina Etiquette During Your Stay
• Keep noise to a considerate level—your fellow boaters will appreciate smooth seas and quiet nights.
• Secure all lines and power cords neatly to keep the docks shipshape and safe for everyone.
• Dispose of trash and recycling in designated areas to help keep our waters sparkling. • Pets are welcome—just keep them leashed and clean up after your four‑legged crew.
• Please respect your neighbors’ decks and avoid stepping aboard other vessels.
Boater Highlights in Marathon Waters • Sombrero Reef – A treasure of the Keys, perfect for snorkeling and diving among vibrant coral and marine life.
• Boot Key Harbor – Calm waters and a lively boating community make this a great place to drop the hook.
• Pigeon Key – A charming historic island that feels like stepping back in time.
• Seven-Mile Bridge Area – Stunning views and great wildlife spotting—ideal for a scenic cruise.
• Coffins Patch – A protected reef with crystal‑clear water and colorful fish.
• Sisters Creek – A peaceful, mangrove‑lined stretch perfect for a quiet paddle or slow cruise.
• Vaca Cut – A handy passage between the Atlantic and the Gulf, with great fishing on both sides.
