About
**Our Combination Halibut and Salmon fishing charters target everything in season at the time** and include fishing for Red Snapper, Black Bass, and all manner of Rock Fish, as **well as Ling Cod after July 1st** and Halibut ** . Our catch records stand among the best in the Seward area. While other outfitters may market Halibut / Rock fish combos, Salmon / Ling Cod combos, or Halibut / Salmon combos as specific species trips, Miller's Landing has one "combination" charter which target all of the sport fish caught in our region, all day long. With vessel departures 6AM daily, enjoy free coffee from our off site location out of the harbor! Free parking & fishing licenses available on site, we'll pick you up right from shore in our specially designed boats!
Our brand-new catamaran depart at 6AM and fish 10 - 12 (or more for private groups). We also often use this vessel to drop off kayakers in the national park- this is the reason for the earlier departure and does not cut into your fishing time, nor does it affect where we fish.
Filet of your fish and a private hanging station back at the landing for photos is included in your adventure. Enjoy world class fishing for all species using purpose built custom made in the USA fishing rods from [Thrasher Rods](https://www.millerslandingak.com/fishing/saltwater-charters/fishing-gear.htm) and all hand tied gear in house.
Booking Notes
# We are so excited to take you on our full-day, multi-species charter!
Our 10 person catamaran, the Fox Willie, and our 14 person catamaran, the Islay M, depart at 6AM **(7AM after 8/19)**. We often use these vessels to drop off kayakers in the national park - this is the reason for the earlier departure and does not reduce your fishing time, nor does it affect where we fish. Fishing stops for the day at 3:30pm, and we expect to return by 5:45-6PM or thereabouts.
# If you chose the "Book the Boat" rate, you have exclusive use of the boat for your party - the following criteria exist:
- 16 people max on the Fox Willie - please note the Fox Willie is only able to fish 10 anglers for halibut, and no more than 10 anglers should expect to fish at a time for any species. If you're coming with a party of 16, all 16 can fish for salmon or rock fish, but no more than 10 at a time (you'll have to take turns).
- 20 people max of the Islay M - please note the Isla M is only able to fish 14 anglers for halibut, and no more than 14 anglers should expect to fish at a time for any species. If you're coming with a party of 20, all 20 can fish for salmon or rock fish, but no more than 14 at a time (you'll have to take turns).
- If you've booked a boat and require a later departure time, we can do that with advance notice, but do know the boats are back by 5:30-6PM regardless start time. Earlier returns are not an issue - you've booked the boat, just let us know what you'd like to focus on!
- It should go without saying that booking the boat doesn't mean you're allowed to operate it! The captain and deckhand will work with your requests but are still in charge.
# Charters include fishing tackle, bait, guide, and necessary equipment in the price - Please read the following before you arrive!
# Cook your Catch!
Turn your catch into dinner after your trip with our new Cook Your Catch experience. Bring fish caught on your Miller’s Landing charter straight to our cafe and our kitchen will prepare it fresh the same day, served with seasonal sides for a true Alaska dock-to-table meal experience. Pricing starts at $35 per person when booked in advance ($45 per person within 48 hours of your trip), and availability may be limited.
Learn more or add it to your reservation here: https://www.millerslandingak.com/cafe/cook-your-catch/
# Charters are only able to fish for what is in season and legal to harvest as ordained by NOAA, NMFS, and ADF&G regulations.
* **Charters do not include meals or foul weather gear** please plan ahead!
As inventory permits, the Miller's Landing store does sell limited rain gear, hats, etc.
* **NO BANANAS OR ANY BANANA RELATED PRODUCTS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE BOAT!** Banana’s are bad luck. The crew **will** throw them overboard; we take this seriously.
* **Hard alcohol is not permitted on board.** Feel free to bring some beer or wine to enjoy during your charter, but **inebriation will not be tolerated.**
* **Marijuana may not be consumed or carried on board.** Marijuana is not federally recognized, and our boats operate within federal jurisdiction.
* **Please medicate for sea sickness in advance if necessary.** If you know ahead of time that you are prone to sea sickness (or if you are unsure), go to bed early the night before and follow the instructions on your motion sickness treatment meds! Alcohol and antihistamines will have you sleeping all day, so don't plan a big night out before your charter!
_______
# Suggested Clothing & Equipment
- **There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad equipment** - *Old Norwegian saying*
- **Assume it's going to rain** and be happy when it doesn't. The majority of the time it's gorgeous out there, but there's nothing like being prepared.
* **Layer, Layer, and Layer:** Synthetics or wool are best with a rain proof top and bottom if possible.
* **Gloves:** Bulky gloves can be more trouble than they're worth and accidentally torque down on the drag on the reel, etc. Light duty polypro gloves or featherweight neoprene can get wet, are cheap, pack easy, etc.
* **A good hat:**
* Sunscreen & any medication you may need
* **Sea sickness meds:** - if you know you suffer from sea sickness, ask your doctor if [Promethazine](https://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-8895/promethazine-oral/details) is appropriate for you. If it's good enough for astronauts, it'll probably work on our boats. Transderm Scopalamine patches are also very effective and don't result in drowsiness.
* **Camera:** If you have a waterproof housing or bag, definitely bring it! On kayaking trips, cameras of course have an increased risk of falling into the ocean. Phones work great, and we may have water resistant phone cases for you to use during your trip, inquire when you arrive!

____________
#Fuel Surcharge
Please know that fuel is the largest expense we have as charter operators. Our prices reflect the price of fuel at the time of publishing. In previous years we have not added a fuel surcharge, however, due to the volatile and uncertain nature of fuel prices, Millers Landing reserves the right to add a fuel surcharge to the trip rates.
A fuel surcharge will only be applied in the event of soaring fuel prices based on the price of fuel at the time of your charter. Should the price of marine fuel remain under $4.50 per gallon there will be no additional charge.
This will ensure that we are able to take you to the best fishing grounds without regard for the cost of fuel or how far we must travel. By adding a fee schedule we can mitigate that concern, and provide you the ultimate fishing experience.
**PRICE OF FUEL FUEL SURCHARGE**
- UNDER $4.50 PER GALLON NO SURCHARGE
- $4.51 – $5.00 PER GALLON $10 PER PERSON PER DAY
- $5.01 – $6.00 PER GALLON $20 PER PERSON PER DAY
- $6.01 – $7.00 PER GALLON $30 PER PERSON PER DAY
- $7.01 – $8.00 PER GALLON $40 PER PERSON PER DAY

#Fishing Regulations & Species Targeted
Your guide(s) will help you follow the fishing regulations in our area, but ultimately you'll need to be aware of the rules to follow in order to enjoy our amazing fishery!
Your full day combination charter will target Halibut, Rock Fish, Ling Cod, and Silver Salmon. You are likely to catch a variety of things additionally, however harvesting the above species will be our our main goal for the day.
**Please note: We can not make any guarantees concerning number or size of fish caught.** While our main goal on any fishing charter is to have our clients catch their limits of the targeted species, there are many factors that can impact the outcome of each day of fishing. Our captains and deckhands are skilled fishermen and are very knowledgeable about our fishing grounds. They will do everything in their power to facilitate your dream Alaskan fishing trip!
There's a good write up about the fish we target on our website [HERE](https://www.millerslandingak.com/fishing/saltwater-charters/halibut-salmon-charters.htm).
