Thank you for signing up for an outing with Venture Outdoors!
Trip Information:
Trip: The Search for Pittsburgh's "Ghost Bomber"
Meeting location: Duck Hollow Boat Launch - [Google Maps](https://maps.app.goo.gl/dLYX2X2VTiJbPGkt9)
Parking: The Google Map link above leads directly to the parking lot. There is ample parking space available.
To Bring: Participants should bring water bottle and wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet - capsizing in a kayak is unlikely, but it is still best to keep in mind that it can happen. You also could occasionally get dripped or splashed on. Because of this, it is best to wear non-cotton/denim clothes that dry quickly. Wear comfortable shoes that could potentially get wet. Keep in mind that anything you take on the water with you could get wet!!
What to Expect: This program will begin with introductions and some general kayak instruction. Following that, we'll set the scene and then head on the river to hear the story about the plane!
Time: Please plan to arrive at the launch 15 minutes early to allow for check in. Participants can expect the trip to last about three hours.
Trip Contact information: Please email kayakpittsburgh@ventureoutdoors.org with any questions. If you need assistance around the time of your trip, please try to contact our trip leaders for more information. They may be busy with others when you call or not near the location's phone, so leave a voicemail and they’ll get back to you as soon as they can. The leaders can be reached by calling the Kayak Pittsburgh phone number - 412-255-0564.
IMPORTANT - All participants need to sign a waiver before heading out on the water. If you didn’t already sign our Acknowledgement and Assumption of Risk form at any point THIS CALENDAR YEAR, our staff will ask you to complete one when you arrive on-site by scanning a QR code on your phone or potentially using the iPad on site if available. Sign one using the link in this email to save time!

Outings are held in all types of weather, excluding thunderstorms. Unless contacted by our staff, it should be assumed that the outing will go on as planned. Our staff may cancel anytime leading up to the start time, and they will make every reasonable attempt to inform participants as soon as a decision is made.
If we must cancel due to weather or water conditions, our staff will reach out to notify you of any plans to reschedule and/or offer a full refund to the original form of payment. Alternatively, you may opt to turn your ticket price into a donation to Venture Outdoors.
If you must cancel your reservation, refunds for paddle excursions will be issued in the form of a gift card that can be used towards future paddle excursions or a rental at any Kayak Pittsburgh location. To cancel your spot, please email kayakpittsburgh@ventureoutdoors.org or call 412-255-0564.
Cancellations with insufficient notice, no-shows, and late arrivals who have missed the group’s departure will not receive a refund.
