About
Charter a boat and one of our naturalist guides from the Isle of Palms Marina for an exploration of our salt marshes and barrier islands. The charter rate is an hourly fee and includes just about anything you would like to do on the water. Spend some time fishing in the calm waters of the salt marsh, pull some crab traps, learn to throw the cast net, investigate oyster beds, spend time with dolphins, stop on a sand bar to catch some blue crabs, swim a little, and stop on Capers for some shelling and island exploration. You may even choose to end the trip with a Lowcountry Boil or hamburgers and hot dogs grilled on the beach. We always bring an ice cold watermelon for extra refreshment!
Your kids will come home with a wealth of knowledge about marine ecosystems and learn fun skills such as fishing, crabbing and cast netting. You are welcome to bring your own food and coolers.The description above is just an example of the many options available for this customized excursion. Choose one or all of these activities or leave it in the hands of your guide to ensure you have an amazing time! Average charter length depending on what activities you choose is 3-5 hours. The beachside cookout is an additional cost per person.
What to Bring
- You are welcome to bring your own refreshments and small cooler for the trip. Beer and wine is welcome for passengers ages 21 and over.
- Wear comfortable and weather-appropriate clothing and shoes or sandals.
- Bathing suits are optional since you are welcome to get in the water during this excursion.
- Please feel free to bring a bag with sunscreen, towels, cameras, binoculars, bug spray, or anything else that will make your trip more enjoyable.

##What to know before you go:
**Please arrive 15 minutes before departure time.**
Parking - When pulling into the Isle of Palms Marina you will see parking signs in the parking lot on your right. All the signs say text to pay. Follow the instructions on the sign and it will ask you for a credit card number to pay to park.
Please park wherever there is a daily parking sign. Please text the number on the sign to pay. Cost is $5/hr or $20/day per vehicle.
Meet Your Guide - Your guide will meet you at the Barrier Island Tiki Hut located to the right of the Marina Market store in the parking lot.
**WEATHER POLICY** - Please show up unless you hear from us. Isolated, pop-up thunderstorms are common in the summer months and may delay the trip by a few minutes or may miss us completely. We will contact you if the trip is canceled, otherwise please plan on checking in at the scheduled time.
