Private Lunch Cruise available any day of the week from 12pm to 3pm
Experience the beauty of Port Stephens with your very own private lunch cruise aboard the iconic Wangi Queen Showboat.
- No minimum number of guests, max. no of guests 100.
- Charter Cost is $575 (ex GST) per hour, min. 3 hrs.
- Charter Cost is based on you self-catering food for the event.
- Charter Cost includes 3 crew (Captain and 2 Deckhands).
- $500 (ex GST) deposit is due when booking. Call 0411 388 380 to book and pay your deposit over the phone by credit card. See our cancellation / refund policy at the end of this page.
- Private Lunch Cruises are available from Monday to Sunday each week.
- If you'd like us to cater your event, let us know your budget per head and our catering team will design a menu for you!
- Balance is payable 7 days prior to event.
- We have a fully licensed bar and cafe on board, with an espresso coffee machine. Barista included in charter fee.
- Due to Responsible Service of Alcohol laws, you may not bring your own alcohol on board.
- For boardings at Nelson Bay or Karuah, an additional fee of $250 applies.
- Private charters board 15 minutes before departure.
Depending on the type of event, we can provide commentary on local history, local stories and local landmarks OR we have an excellent PA & sound system for music, speeches and presentations.

Catering Your Own Event
We have 2 buffet tables that fold out on the lower deck. Each buffet table measures 3m wide by 780mm deep. BYO decorations, bowls, platters, plates, napkins and serving cutlery. We can also assist with non-disposable items, please discuss when booking.
We also have 10 additional 1m x 500mm tables that can be set up on the lower or upper deck, as well as 3 x 2m collapsable bench seats.
- Wax candles are permitted for celebration cakes.
- Sparklers are not permitted on board.
- Bluetooth your preferred Spotify playlist.
- Shelled prawns only please! (no prawn heads or shell casings).
Bump In / Event Setup / Bump Out
Access to the vessel is provided from 11am Monday to Friday (or from 11:30am on Sat or Sun) for loading of food, decorations & sundries, and set up of food buffet table. Half an hour is allocated at end of cruise for bump-out. Our crew will finalise the cleaning and rubbish removal after bump-out and during shut-down.
DJ or Live Music
If you book a DJ or live band for your event they can board / setup / do sound check 1 hour prior to departure. Not suitable for full drum kit setup - preferable for 2 or 3 piece band and/or beat box or half drum kit - snare, bass drum & top hat. Our PA & sound system is daisy-chained across both decks so guest can enjoy music / speeches on both levels.
Our Liquor License does not permit Adult Entertainers on board the vessel.
Espresso Coffee and Tea
Our on board barista serves a range of delicious freshly ground coffee throughout the cruise. Run a tab or have your guests pay as they go.
Fully Licensed Bar On Board
A full range of local spirits, cocktails, bottled beers, wines, ciders and pre-mixed spirits are available to purchase throughout the cruise, as well as soft drinks, bottled water and alcohol-free wine. Run a tab or have your guests pay as they go.
About Wangi Queen Showboat
Wangi Queen is an iconic 1922 heritage-listed timber ferry, originating from Empire Bay on the Central Coast. Designed and built by the Beattie Brothers, Wangi Queen is a rare and charming example of early Australian shipbuilding. Constructed from timber handcut from the Watagans Forest, she offer's two decks from which to view the stunning waterways of Port Stephens-Great Lakes Marine Park.
Male & Female Heads (bathrooms) are located on the lower deck on the bow. Our Saloon Bar is located on the lower deck at the midship where we board.
Boarding is easy for people with a walker / small wheelchair. Please advise when booking if you have guests who will need assistance when boarding.
Cancellation / Refund Policy
- In the event of strong winds exceeding 22 knots, a full refund will be provided on the day of the event.
- The vessel is fully enclosed and is not affected by rain.
- Cancellations and refunds are accepted up to 7 days prior to the event.
- Deposit / charter fee is non-refundable for cancellations within 7 days of the event (except due to strong winds exceeding 22 knots on the day of the event).
