#Top Questions

**1. What are the most common preparation mistakes guests make for this tour (and how can I avoid them)?**

**• Not arriving early enough**
30 minutes early is the minimum. Earlier is better. Even private charters must depart on time.

**• Underestimating drive time**
Apple/Google Maps use current traffic. Night estimates can be way off. Plan extra time as drive times can double the next day.

**• Caffeine and poor meal timing**
Coffee and caffeine are one of the fastest ways to trigger seasickness. Avoid them and stick to a light, balanced meal not too heavy and not empty.

**• Overpacking**
Space is limited and things get wet. Keep it minimal (see list below).

**2. What are the Hawai'i sunscreen laws?**
• No spray sunscreen; cream apply only. Make sure your sunscreen doesn't have any oxybenzone, octinoxate, avobenzone, homosalate, octisalate, or octocrylene. Mahalo in advance for caring about our precious marine ecosystem.

**3. What do guests typically tip the captain and crew?**
• Tips are never expected and always appreciated. See below for a range that works for most.

• Good tour - 10% of sales total

• Great tour! - 15% of sales total

• Excellent tour! - 20% + of sales total

Parking is $20 per car and is managed by a private company that oversees the lot.
