With over 30 years’ experience under our belt we have a 99% success rate for students to stand up on their first lesson. We have developed a unique system that not only gets people up on their feet in their first attempt, but also educates our clients on general surf awareness and beach safety.

In line with the Surfing Australia (SA) guidelines, we work with a 1:8 ratio of coaches to participants.

Island coaches are also all experienced local surfers, including a former World Championship Tour (WCT) surfer, former Australian Team coaches and Australian & Victorian Champions and team members.
What's Included
We pride ourselves on the quality and condition of our equipment. Everything you need for surfing is supplied by the courtesy of Island Surfboards.

- User-friendly, soft surfboards ranging from 6’0 – 9’0 foot
- 4:3 & 3:2 steamer wetsuits, sizing from kids 2 – adult XXXL
- Coaching from one of our expert qualified surfing coaches
Facilities
We are located in Smiths Beach and are only a short 100m walk from the beach.
We provide undercover change rooms as well as private change rooms for your convenience.
Safe storage for all personal belongings are also available.
Bathroom facilities are located in store, including a shower & tap for you to rinse off after your lesson.
