This awesome experience includes a journey down a 14km section of the River Derwent from Darley Dale to Whatstandwell.
Stunning scenery gives way to small grade rapids as you navigate your Venture Canoes through the twists and turns of this grade 1/2 river.
Our canoes are very user friendly, stable and manoeuvrable, you'll pick up the art of paddling in no time. You'll be guided downstream by one of our experienced river guides, who using their own canoe will teach you the skills you'll need to enjoy this five star canoeing experience.

How To Prepare
- Once booked, read your confirmation email and share the info with your group
- Bring a pare of old trainers to wear during your activity... these will get wet and muddy
- Check the forecast for the day and prepare accordingly... e.g if it's sunny bring sun cream
- Please ensure to bring any medication you may require for any existing medical conditions
- Arrive in what you wish to wear under your wetsuit or waterproofs... e.g swimwear or tight gym wear

**Before You Arrive**

✓ Allow extra time for travel and parking, especially at weekends.
✓ Activities run on time. Late arrivals may not be able to join the session.
**Getting to Your Meeting Location**
Our activity centre is located within Cromford Mills, Mill Road, Cromford, DE4 3RQ.

After parking, make your way into the main courtyard of Cromford Mills and look out for our blue **Rapid Horizons A-frame sign.**
Once you’ve found the sign, head up to our activity centre on the 2nd floor, where our team will be ready to welcome you.
- Pay & Display parking is available on site.
- The main car park can become busy at weekends, so please allow extra time.
- Please arrive at the time stated on your booking confirmation.
- Once everyone is kitted up, your guide will deliver a full safety briefing before the activity begins.

**What to Wear & Bring**
Please arrive wearing comfortable clothing suitable for the weather and for getting wet.
Please do not wear denim.
**Bring:**
- Lunch and a drink in a secure bottle
- A towel or changing robe
- Trainers or footwear you don’t mind getting wet
- Any medication required for existing medical conditions
**If Your Activity Includes a Wetsuit**
We recommend arriving wearing swimwear or close-fitting sportswear underneath your wetsuit.
You are welcome to bring and wear your own wetsuit if you prefer.
All participants will be provided with the required safety equipment, including a buoyancy aid and helmet.
**Facilities**
- Toilets and changing facilities are available on site.
- Lockers are available for small valuables such as phones, wallets and keys.
- Changing bags and spare clothing can be left at our activity centre during your session.
- Cafés are available on site.
- You’ll start and finish your activity at Cromford Mills, with Cromford village just a short walk away for food and refreshments afterwards.
