An Easy Paddle With Views of Seals In There Natural Environment
Duration
3.5 Hours - 2.5 Hours Paddling
About
Leaving from North end of the car park (Pittwater side) in Governor Philip Park, Palm beach. The 20 min palm beach kayaking will lead to the Seal colony. We spend 10 to 20 min with this palm beach paddle while checking out the Seals. As they are wild animals we keep outside the legal minimum distance, or more if the Seals seem unhappy. This helps to keep the seal kayaking experience safe and overwhelming. They are usually very relaxed and we get a great look and good photos.

When we have had our fill of the Seals we paddle to a secluded beach for lunch. This beach will vary depending on weather conditions. After lunch and a swim (if you are up for it) we will explore Pittwater and return to our departure point. This seal experience lunch paddle is something that people crave for. We tailor the length of this leg to the speed and fitness of the group.

**SEAL GUARANTEE:**
Because Seals are wildlife they do not always cooperate. If you do not get at least 2 min with 2 or more seals in a good view while seal kayaking, you can come again on this paddle at half price until you get quality time looking at Seals.

##What is supplied:
Sydney Kayak supplies the kayaks and kayaking equipment, Lunch/Dinner and
Sunscreen.
##What to bring:
You should bring water and a change of clothes for after the paddle in case you
get wet. It is rare for anyone to fall in but you can get damp from paddle splash.
You can bring phones and Cameras but remember there is a risk as they don’t
float and usually don’t work if dropped in water. For anything with a touch
screen it is a good idea to have a small cloth to wipe drops from wet fingers off
the screen as they can be sensed as a finger touch and make use difficult.
Anything you don’t want to get wet should be in a zip lock bag as a minimum.
There is not a lot of room in a Kayak so back packs are best left behind unless
very small.
##What to wear:
Paddling is a water sport so expect to get splashed.
Your feet will get wet.
Footwear is strongly recommended.
The clothing Golden Rules - your kayak clothing should:
- NO COTTON or DENHIM - when it gets wet, it does not dry and
remains cold and heavy!
- When wet, your clothing must stay warm AND dry quickly!
- The key concept to bear in mind is layering. Several thin garments will
keep you just as warm as a single thicker one, and are much more
versatile.
- Remember you’ll need to think about staying cool as much as staying
warm, and you can always add or subtract layers.
- A light Nylon Jacket will keep out wind and water. Fleeces are OK. Avoid heavy Jackets
##What to expect:
You will be paddling on beautiful Pittwater.
Expect stunning Scenery, Seals and often Sea Eagles
This is an easy paddle of about 2.5 hours of paddling, depending on conditions
and the paddling ability of the group.
##Weather cancellation:
In the event of bad weather (rain or high winds) A decision will be made the
evening 36 hours before the paddle so for a Saturday paddle the decision will be
made Thursday evening. If you don’t receive a call or txt its going ahead.
##Directions:
Governor Phillip Memorial park is at North Palm Beach and can be accessed by
car as well as being a short walk from bus stop.
Look for Kayaks on the beach beside the Northern end of the carpark. There are
Hire Kayaks at the boathouse. Our meeting is further up the beach, closer to
Barrenjoey Headland.
