Booking Notes
#Meeting Location:
**Please meet at our main office at 9:30 am to allow time to gear up and meet your guide before departing south along the coast.**
If you're bringing a lot of gear, please show up early and communicate with Millers Landing to ensure a timely departure. This trip will take 4 to 6 hours, with a mix of kayaking and hiking, the trip can also be customized or changed as conditions change in the bay or according to what the client's interests may be. If you have any special concerns or requests please call us. We also ask that you bring extra layers and dress accordingly. #Please read the following before you arrive!
**Please arrive 30 minutes early for your trip to complete waiver paperwork, park, use the restroom, etc!**
* **We do not provide foul weather gear** please plan ahead!
As inventory permits, the Miller's Landing store does sell limited rain gear, hats, etc.
* **NO BANANAS OR ANY BANANA-RELATED PRODUCTS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE BOAT!** Bananas are bad luck. The crew **will** throw them overboard, we take this seriously.
* **Alcohol is not permitted on board** Remember, it's a boat, not a bar! Drinking whilst on the tour is strictly prohibited!
* **Please medicate for seasickness in advance if necessary** if it is known to all you ahead of time, go to bed early the night before and follow the instructions on your motion sickness treatment meds! Alcohol and antihistamines will have you sleeping all day, so don't plan a big night out before your trip!

# Suggested Clothing & Equipment
- **There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad equipment** - *Old Norwegian saying*
- **Assume it's going to rain** and be happy when it doesn't. The majority of the time it's gorgeous out there, but there's nothing like being prepared:
* **Layer, Layer, and Layer:** Synthetics or wool are best with a rainproof top and bottom if possible. We do have dry bags for a full change of clothes if you'd like to bring that, as well as any favorite snacks you choose to bring.
* **Gloves:** Bulky gloves can be more trouble than they're worth, absorb water and keep it there, doing more harm than good! Light-duty polypropylene gloves or featherweight neoprene can get wet, are cheap, pack easily, etc.
* **A good hat:**
* Sunscreen & any medication you may need
* **Sea sickness meds:** - if you know you suffer from sea sickness, ask your doctor if [Promethazine](https://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-8895/promethazine-oral/details) is appropriate for you. If it's good enough for astronauts, it'll probably work on our boats. Transderm Scopalamine patches are also very effective and don't result in drowsiness.
* **Camera:** If you have a waterproof housing or bag, definitely bring it! On kayaking trips, cameras of course have an increased risk of falling into the ocean. Phones work great, and we may have water-resistant phone cases for you to use during your trip, inquire when you arrive!

#Location and Directions
Miller’s Landing is located at 13890 Beach Drive, Seward Alaska 99664. Which is about 1 ½ mile south of the city of Seward along Resurrection Bay at Lowell Point. If you are coming into Seward from the Anchorage area (North of us) then you should be on Highway 9 (the Seward Highway) which turns into 3rd Ave once you hit the Seward city limits. Stay on this road till it end and you can either turn left (towards Alaska Sealife Center) or right towards Lowell point road. You want to turn right onto Lowell point road, just past the waterfall the road will turn from pavement to dirt. Continue to follow this road for another 1 ½ miles till you see the Miller’s Landing Welcome sign. For further directions see our website at [www.millerslandingak.com](www.millerslandingak.com).

Cancellation Policy
A $10 cancellation fee is imposed for all reservations cancelled.
Cancellations must be received by email only to reservations@millerslandingak.com The cancellation notice date is the date the email was received at reservations@millerslandingak.com Phone cancellations will not be accepted.
Cancellations received by email 30 days prior to the first day of the reservation are charged a $10 cancellation fee and you will receive a refund of 90% of the total amount of the reservation.
Cancellations received by email 15 to 29 days prior to the first day of the reservation are charged a $10 cancellation charge and you will receive a 75% refund. of the total amount of the reservation.
Cancellations received by email 14 days to zero days prior to arrival are charged a $10 cancellation fee and you will receive a 50% refund only if we are able to rebook your camping, cabin, fishing, kayaking, watertaxi, shuttle, lunch, or activity. If we are not able to rebook your reservation then no refunds will be issued and. You must call or e-mail Miller’s Landing post date of cancelled stay in order for us to research whether or not your site booked. Sites that were booked of course qualify for the 50% refund, sites that were not unfortunately do not.
In some situations a giftcard may be issued at the discretion of Miller’s Landing management instead of the applicable cancellation charge. If this option appeals to you please suggest this at the time of cancellation.
A 100% refund will be issued for any activity that was cancelled due to weather by Miller’s Landing. Miller’s Landing reserves the right to determine weather cancellations. Rain does not constitute cancellations.
Please note: Miller’s Landing encourages only guaranteed prepaid reservations. Unlike many other states, Alaska has a very short tourist season which can make it difficult for us to rebook when we have cancellations without ample notice.
If you are booking a charter and lodging and your charter, water taxi or kayaking is cancelled due to weather you are still responsible for the lodging or camping reservations and the normal cancellation policy applies. All of our activities are possible during rain, so rain does not constitute a cancellation. Miller’s Landing is not responsible for vehicle breakdowns, personal emergencies, flight delays, health issues or other unforeseen hardships. We will try very hard to work with you but the cancellation policy will need to be applied if we cannot issue a raincheck or find an alternative solution that appeals to both parties.
Please understand that Miller’s Landing also incurs a hefty financial merchant fee from our bank for the cost of charging your credit card and again for the cost of refunding it, and there is also a cost involved for the time involved in the processing and refunding your reservation in employee costs. Our goal when taking your reservation is to have a solid, guaranteed prepaid reservation. We strongly discourage the practice of making reservations without having an airline ticket or making tentative reservations. Thank you for your understanding.
