You will be aboard the passenger vessel M/V Shining Star as she follows the tall ships up the Piscataqua River for this year's Parade of Sail. You will have a great view of the vessels including three visiting tall ships along with Portsmouth's own tall ship, the gundalow Piscataqua. As an added bonus, watch the tall ships assemble before the Parade begins.

The Shining Star departs at 9:30 AM from the Kittery Town Dock and will return to the dock after the Parade concludes. Space is limited, so if you are interested, sign up today.

Booking Notes

Congratulations, you have scored tickets for Sail Portsmouth's Parade of Sail on July 26, 2024. You will accompany the tall ships aboard the motor vessel, Shining Star. You can expect an up-close and personal view of all the tall ships in the parade. If there is time before the parade, you may travel to Star Island. On the way to the island, you will see the tall ships assembling.

- Trip departs from the Kittery Town Dock, Pepperell Cove, at 6:30 PM,
Thursday, July 23, 2026.
- Free parking is available at the Mitchell School lot, just beyond the harbor entrance.
- The Shining Star will return to the Kittery Town dock at the conclusion of the parade.
- Please be at the dock at least 30 minutes ahead of scheduled departure.
- Dress appropriately. No high heels. Sneakers are a good alternative. Bring a warm sweater or jacket.
- All passengers must be ambulatory.

**Cancellation Policy**

The captain of the vessel has the right and responsibility to cancel a trip due to hazardous weather or any other factor affecting passenger safety. The Shining Star will sail in mist and light rain. Thunderstorms and rough seas may cancel a trip. Although cancellations are very rare, they can occur. We will make every effort to place ticket holder on another scheduled sailing. If no other mutually acceptable times are available, refunds may be requested, or you may choose to donate your payment to the Sea Challenge scholarship fund.

All net proceeds go to the Sail Portsmouth's Sea Challenge Scholarship Fund which provides financial support to deserving high school youths in need who enroll in an experiential learning program at sea aboard a tall ship. Sail Portsmouth is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with no paid staff.
