About
Join us for our Paddle Into Fitness teacher training! This course will equip you with the knowledge you need to safely lead a beginner stand up paddleboard lesson, a SUP yoga class, and SUP fitness classes.
**The course is divided into three modules:**
- **Module 1: Standup Paddling**
The first module we teach you how to efficiently lead a basic beginner SUP lesson. We cover the history of SUP, important safety considerations, equipment, basic and intermediate stroke technique, and turns.
- **Module 2: SUP Yoga**
In the second module, we teach you how to lead an effective SUP yoga class. We will discuss the many factors and considerations of leading a yoga class on the water. We will share with you two SUP yoga flows – a beginner and an advanced class. There will be plenty of time to practice teaching one another!
- **Module 3: SUP Fitness**
The third module is dedicated to SUP fitness. We will discuss more advanced SUP techniques and fitness challenges on the water. We will teach you how to create a well balanced workout on the water.
You may choose to participate in 1, 2 or all 3 modules, but if you are interested in only part of the training, please note that module 1 is mandatory.

Ala Moana is conveniently located 1.5 miles from Waikiki, a short 10 minute drive or 30-45 minute walk. If you are driving, there is ample parking at the beach park. If you are taking public transit, you can take the city bus, the Ala Moana Shopping Trolly, or an Uber ride.
**Bus:** One-way fare is $2.50. Busses run from 6am-10pm, 7 days a week. Click [here](http://www.thebus.org/) for more information.
**Ala Moana Shopping Trolly:** The trolly provides convenient transportation between Ala Moana Shopping Center and 15 locations in Waikiki. It runs every 10-12 minutes, from 9:30am – 8pm. #FAQ
**What should I wear/bring?**
Come prepared for the elements. Please wear sunscreen and a hat. Wear clothing that you feel comfortable moving and stretching in, and that you are okay with getting wet. Bathing suits and lycra yoga clothes work well. Soft water bottles are easiest to bring on the boards (please no single-use plastic!)
**Is there a place to store valuables?**
We will have a safe place to store your keys, wallet, or phone. Please avoid bringing unnecessary valuables to the beach.
**What about the weather?**
Classes run rain or shine, however, in the event of unsafe water conditions (waves, wind, or lightning), class will be cancelled. We will notify you via email or phone 30 minutes prior to class in the event of a cancellation.
#Aloha!
