If you're looking for a more challenging kayaking adventure in Belgrade, our Sava Bridges Kayak Tour offers the perfect combination of sport, sightseeing, and unforgettable river views.
This guided adventure takes you beneath all six bridges spanning the Sava River while showcasing both the historic heart of Belgrade and its modern skyline. Along the way, you'll experience the famous confluence of the Danube and Sava Rivers, paddle beside Belgrade Fortress, and admire the rapidly developing Belgrade Waterfront district.
Covering approximately 14 kilometers, this is one of our most rewarding urban kayaking experiences.
This tour is NOT recommended for complete beginners.
The route covers approximately 14 kilometers and lasts between 3 and 3.5 hours.
Because of the distance, river conditions, and steady pace, participants should have previous kayaking experience and a moderate to good level of fitness.
If you're new to kayaking, we recommend one of our beginner-friendly guided tours before joining this adventure.
The tour starts at the PaddleBooking Kayak Center, located at:
Kej Oslobođenja 11a, Zemun
Before departure, you'll receive all the equipment needed for the tour:
Single or tandem kayak
Lightweight paddle
Certified life jacket
Waterproof dry bag for your phone and valuables
Changing rooms, lockers, restrooms, and seasonal outdoor showers are also available at our kayak center.
Before launching, our guide will provide a complete safety briefing and explain the route, river conditions, and paddling techniques.
After launching from Zemun, we paddle through a peaceful branch of the Danube toward one of Belgrade's most famous natural landmarks—the confluence where the Sava River meets the Danube.
Here you'll enjoy spectacular panoramic views of:
Great War Island
Kalemegdan Fortress
Historic Belgrade
Zemun
The meeting point of Serbia's two greatest rivers
From the confluence, we turn upstream into the Sava River and begin our journey beneath Belgrade's famous bridges.
One by one, we'll pass beneath the six bridges that connect different parts of Belgrade.
During the tour you'll paddle beneath:
Branko's Bridge
New Sava Bridge
Old Railway Bridge
Gazela Bridge
Ada Bridge
New Railway Bridge
Each bridge represents a different period in Belgrade's history and offers a completely different architectural style, making this tour a fascinating journey through the city's past and present.
One of the highlights of this adventure is seeing the dramatic contrast between old and new Belgrade.
On one side of the river you'll enjoy views of the historic city center and the magnificent Kalemegdan Fortress, standing above the rivers for centuries.
On the other side rises the modern skyline of Belgrade Waterfront, one of Europe's largest urban redevelopment projects. With its contemporary architecture, luxury residences, riverside promenade, and the iconic Kula Belgrade (Belgrade Tower), this district has transformed the city's riverfront and is often compared to modern waterfront developments around the world.
Experiencing both worlds from a kayak offers a perspective that very few visitors ever see.
After reaching the final bridge, we take a short break to rest, enjoy the views, take photographs, and prepare for the return journey.
From there, we paddle back along the same scenic route, giving you another opportunity to appreciate Belgrade's impressive skyline from the water.
